HISTORY OF GCT RASUL
- 1873…Started at Oriental College Lahore under Punjab University as School of Surveying
- 1885…Shifted to Mayo School of Arts
- 1906…Named as Punjab School of Engineering
- 1912…Shifted to present location(Government School of Engineering Rasul)
- 1962…Named as Government School of Engineering & Polytechnic Institute Rasul and 3 year diploma in Civil technology was introduced under education department
- 1974…Upgraded as College of Technology and B-Tech: Degree programme started in affiliation with UET Lahore.
- 2004…The Government of Punjab made announcement for up-gradation of this college as university.
- 2005…The President of Pakistan announced it as university and PC-1 was prepared
- 2007…Selected as centre of excellence by NAVTEC.
- 2007 …Project skills for employability
- 2010-11…Announced as university by the chief minister, committee constituted gave favorable report, funds allocated but a university was set up at GCT Multan.
- 2014…Notification issued for up-gradation as UET Rasul. Admission was completed and classes were commenced w.e.f 13-10-2014.
- 2018…The Punjab University of Technology Rasul act 2018 was passed by Punjab Assembly.
